Family Inter-Generation Link (FIG Link) worked with Flemingdon Senior Group for Seniors’ Community Outreach for Vulnerable Seniors Program (funded by WoodGreen Community Services) as an organizer to provide workshop services and home visit services to deliver health related information and referral. We built partnership with Don Mills Family Health Team, Canadian Liver Foundation, CNIB, NEW and WoodGreen Community Services to support the program.
Oolagen is our new partner to work together for Intergenerational Alliance Project – Stories on Fan(funded by Royal Bank) to facilitate the development of an intergenerational network of self-sustaining support among youth, partners and grandparents.
FIG Link utilized the space provided by NEW to open Summer Camp for children, and Fun Learning Mandarin program and Dancing Class for adults. We also used the room of St. Jamestown Community Corner for Fun Learning Math of children and Paper Art of women.
FIG Link delivered workshop to Sunshine Senior Group and Dixon Hall as partners. We also created and maintained partnership with Flemingdon Neithborhood Services, TDSB and CICS to improve our settlement services quality together.
We hosted Canada Celebration Event successfully. And to setup new office and became a member of 211.
2011
Family Inter-Generation Link (FIG Link) worked with Sunshine Senior Group for Seniors’ Community Outreach to Vulnerable Seniors Program (funded by WoodGreen Community Center) as a partner to provide workshop services on health care, health self-management, health information, health food, and stress management;
FIG Link built partnership with Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto (NEW) for Elder Abuse Forum, and provided presentations to seniors such as elder abuse prevention, and prevented to be fraud;
FIG Link created partnership with St. Jamestown Community Corner and utilized the spaces of program and office in the Corner to serve Mandarin speaking seniors live in the area;
Created Flemingdon Park Senior Group and provided home visit service;
Our services included English class, handcrafts class, cooking skills class, computer class, painting class, dancing class and Tai-Chi class in St. Jamestown group and Flemingdon Park group.
2010
Family Inter-Generation Link (FIG Link) registered as a non-profit organization;
Operated St. Jamestown Sunshine Senior Group with partners as Sherbourn Health Centre and Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto (NEW) provided service for seniors on Health knowledge and information related;
Created partnership with New Canadian Community Centre (NCCC)and engaged Toronto International Senior Festival.
2009
Grand opening;
Established group pre-operating senior group in recreation service; Provided workshops on senior’s benefits, healthy eating, and social services navigation.
